Mission Point Resort in Mackinac Island, MI, seeks 16 Kitchen Helpers for temporary, full-time employment (04/01/2024 to 11/16/2024). Duties: Maintain an orderly dishwashing area and coordinate with fellow employees an efficient flow of dishes, silverware, glass, etc. through the dishwasher. Follow and be compliant with all public health rules and regulations. Strive to minimize waste and breakage. Follow proper procedures when working in the kitchens / outlets or recycling area -- sorting and removing trash and recycling, placing them in designated pick up areas. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Proper cleaning, sanitizing and regulation of all dishes, utensils and equipment that are utilized in the kitchen. Assist Cooks and Receiving Team with ensuring that goods are stocked properly in the receiving area and kitchens as needed. Perform additional kitchen helper duties as assigned.

35 hours/week. 7+ hour shifts with 30-minute unpaid break each shift; shifts vary based on venue and may be any time between 7:00 am and 1:30 am. 5 days per week, Sun-Sat. May work evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. May work overtime. OT varies.
No formal education, training or experience required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Must be available to work dates of employment and hours/shifts stated in job listing. Must be able to walk, stand, and move for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, push, and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, kneel and reach. Must be able to speak and understand English.
$15.75/hr; O/T $23.63/hr. Workers will be paid no less than the wage listed. Employer may pay higher wage rates to workers based on seniority with employer and level of skill. Workers with 3+ years of experience will be paid no less than $16.28 per hour. Overtime hours may vary.
Bonus available for full completion of agreed upon employment period.

Workers have the option of employer-provided housing for $320 per month (plus an additional $120 per month for cafeteria / meals), and if elected, employer will deduct costs from worker's paycheck. Workers also have the option of securing their own lodging.
Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law and any non-legally required payroll deductions permitted under the law and requested by Employee.
Employer will arrange & pay directly for transportation & subsistence from place of recruitment to place of work. Employer will issue reimbursement within the first workweek when required to meet FLSA minimum wage obligations. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, if the worker has no immediately subsequent H-2B employment, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation & subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical & reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
Employer will reimburse worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing & related fees, incl. those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
