Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a KC-46 Remote Vision System (RVS) Equipment Management Engineer to join the IPT team in Everett, WA.
The KC-46 Remote Vision System (RVS) Team is responsible for the boom and panoramic cameras that feed the remote vision displays that are the Aerial Refueling Operators' primary input interfaces to configure and control the air refueling systems. The team works closely with equipment suppliers, flight test, production Boeing Commercial, Boeing Global Services, and the military customer.
Our team is currently hiring for either an experienced or senior level Equipment Management Engineer. This position is best suited to individuals who are self-starters, highly motivated, work well in fast-paced multidiscipline team environments, and are able to work with quick decisions for the best interest of the business. This person will join the team responsible for guiding the sustainment of existing Remote Vision Systems as well as the development of Boeing's upgraded Remote Vision System (RVS 2.0). RVS 2.0 represents a significant innovation and includes cutting-edge technologies including high-definition, 3D video systems to enable Boeing to deliver the next generation of industry-leading aerial refueling capabilities.
Position Responsibilities:
The RVS Equipment Engineer will have the opportunity to work across the entire product lifecycle, including:
Work with our US Air Force and international customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Lead and coordinate work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
Lead work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Oversee supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Solve problems concerning and providing other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Of note, the successful candidate will work across Boeing, regulator, supplier and Air Force customer teams to lead the qualification and certification of RVS equipment. The equipment manager will possess knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements. A successful candidate will be able to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance. Specific experience across electromagnetic and environmental testing is preferred.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
3+ years of experience in Systems or Design Engineering
3+ years of leadership or project management experience
Experience with requirements, designs, and design analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with Avionics/Electronics development
Experience with FAA or Military Type Certification
Experience working with a Military Customer
Experience managing a Supplier
Experience with DO-160 (Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures) or equivalent systems certification guidance
Experience with Hardware/Systems Qualification and Testing
Typical Education/Experience:
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for (experienced, level 3): 102,850 - 139,150
Summary pay range for (senior, level 4): 128,350 - 173,650
