This job is simple, but can be stressful. The staff officer will be supervising male juvenile (ages 12-18) offenders in a wilderness setting. The Mitnick Wilderness Program is a 9-week court-ordered prison diversion program. Camp Mitnick is Boy Scout Troop 180 in which the boys participate in fishing, hiking, knot tying, first aid, and Alpine tower climbing. They participate in school work in a classroom setting with a teacher on site, routine strenuous physical workouts, and regular work details.
This is not a physically demanding job. The majority of the work is supervising, keeping the residents on schedule and on task. Valid driver's license, drug test, MVR, CANNs report and background check are required. This position's starting pay is $12/hr.
The schedule will be discussed during an interview.
