About Junior Video Desk Producer

  Reuters is looking for a Junior Video Desk Producer to join our global hub in Singapore, which delivers news coverage to more than 1,000 broadcasters and hundreds of digital outlets around the world.

  As a producer you will need to be passionate about international news and hustle to win breaking stories. You will be organized, focused, and thrive juggling multiple stories in a fast-paced newsroom.

  You will be a quick learner, who enjoys switching between our intake, live and output operations. You will work closely with our editors and crews across the globe to get footage to clients quickly and accurately. You will have an eye for detail and be able to craft pithy scripts and shotlists, as well as keeping our content management systems up-to-date. You will also be a team player who can work closely with colleagues in bureaux, text and photos with efficiency and patience that a U.N. diplomat would envy.

  About the Role

  As a Junior Video Desk Producer you will:

  Work as part of our news gathering team on the Singapore desk coordinating and bringing in edited and live coverage from across the world to deliver to clients at speed.Produce tight, well-written, accurate news copy to deadline.Be customer-focused and pitch story ideas which resonate across broadcast and digital platforms.Be able to work under pressure and unsupervised at times.Be comfortable working on the desk on a shift pattern that involves some weekend work.Respond courageously to major breaking news events, acting quickly and in a responsible manner.Uphold the Reuters Trust Principles of independence, integrity, and freedom from bias.

  About You

  You're a fit for the role of Junior Video Desk Producer if you have:

  At least 1-2 years' experience in professional journalism in a broadcast, digital or agency environment.Excellent news judgment and a passion for breaking news.An interest in live video.Strong video editing, script writing, and text subbing skills.A clear understanding of the video news needs of major broadcasters and digital clients.A thorough understanding of latest video technologies for shooting, editing, transmitting and sharing video.Strong social media news gathering skills.Excellent communication/writing skills in English. Asian language(s) is a plus.A track record of being an organized team player.
