Job Description
Position purpose:
The candidate will be involved in the development of new chemical products. The scientist will work in the field of organic synthesis, participate in projects and will be responsible for the hands-on synthesis and analysis of the proposed compounds.
KEY Responsibilities:
• Designs and performs laboratory experiments with minimal instruction from supervisor.
• Serves as a technical resource on R&D projects.
• Gives scientific presentations.
• Maintains a general textbook knowledge and understands relevant laboratory techniques.
• Drafts technical methods for production and testing of new products.
• Begins to attend scientific conferences, co-authors and presents work through posters and publications.
• Begins to contribute ideas for new products and improvements to procedures.
• Presents project updates when required.
• Effectively prioritizes experimental/technical execution to achieve on-time delivery. Seeks feedback from others when priorities are not clear or logistical or technical challenges are encountered.
• Shows intellectual curiosity about technical and scientific approaches.
• Proactively identifies and communicates risk to their assigned work.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for qualification / Education / Experience:
• Has a strong textbook, practical, and moderate literature-based knowledge of relevant scientific fields.
• Demonstrates skill in all relevant laboratory procedures and use of equipment.
• Analyzes data and effectively explains the outcome/results. Designs follow-on experiments independently with minimal consultation with supervisor.
• Reads scientific papers and is able to critique data and conclusions.
• Maintains an accurate and detailed lab notebook.
Uses word processing, graphing, presentation and spreadsheet programs effectively.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills through informal discussions with peers, supervisor, and team.
• Co-authors scientific publications (posters/papers) and presents at conferences.
• Understands the technical vision/mission of the department and company.
• Effectively uses the project management and company systems.
• Begins to set example for others through thoroughness, accuracy, and commitment.
• Begins to suggest improvements for departmental processes and practices.
• Holds self accountable for one's behavior and actions, displaying self-motivation and honesty. Seeks support from others as needed.
• Accepts and adjusts to changing priorities, escalates concerns openly, and seeks to understand the big picture.
• Completes PPI training and assists with PPI activities. Asks questions and seeks opinions and insight from multiple resources.

Monthly salary from 1440 to 2160 Eur before taxes.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €17 300,00–€25 925,00.
