Applications are invited for Joseph F. Ritt Assistant Professorships in the Department of Mathematics at Columbia University. These are rotating positions at the junior level with one year appointments, normally renewable for three more years. Teaching load is two courses one semester and one course the other semester.
Candidates must have excellent scholarship and show promise for future development; must demonstrate the potential to develop strong publishing and teaching records; and must have the potential to do pioneering research and to teach effectively using modern tools of instruction. PhD is required at the time of appointment.
