About Japan Direct Merchant Operations Manager

  About the Role

  Merchant Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that collaborates with cross-regional and cross-functional stakeholders to provide smooth professional services and operational consultancy to business partners across a wide range of industries. Merchant Operations also provides essential risk management and controls to continuously improve the quality of delivery services provided to the end-consumers of each business partner.

  ---- What you will do ----

  * Develop strong execution, organization, and prioritization skill

  * Prepare to gain a comprehensive understanding of multiple business lines across the firm. The role offers broad exposure to many divisions and groups within the firm, including Sales, Uber Eats Operation, Legal, DP Ops, Community Ops, Partner Engineering, Product Ops, Tax Ops, Safety.

  * Partner with a cross-functional teams to review the operational and legal aspects of new regulatory changes and new business initiatives

  * Showcase your attention to detail by managing customer expectation and ensuring accuracy of money flow including billing and tax invoices provided to Merchant Partners

  * Use your inquisitive mind set to identify control weakness, mitigate risk, and improve current processes, procedures and reports including automation of manual processes

  * Act as a risk manager by performing ongoing assessment and building awareness around system limitations to Sales to prevent miscommunication to Merchant Partners

  * Leverage your quantitative/analytical skills to highlight irregularities and assess effectiveness of new initiatives or improved processes

  ---- The skills you will bring ----

  * Japanese (Native level reading & writing) and fluent English

  * Bachelor's Degree

  * Minimum 3 years of client facing operation support & Process Optimization experience

  * Ability to multitask and work under pressure with tight deadlines

  * Analytical thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and translate strategy to execution

  * Problem solving and documentation skills with an ability to understand complex workflows

  Experience with SQL, Python3(pandas)
