Preference will be given to local candidates and those who can be onsite when face-to-face collaboration is needed. Candidate should reside within 3 hours of Jefferson City and be available for onsite when/if requested at their own expense.
The project requires attendance at a vendor kickoff meeting as well as an annual status meeting in DC. There are also a couple of best practices conferences that will require the project team to attend each year as well. The client will also conduct on site meetings. Travel would roughly be once a quarter with the occasional conference sprinkled in.
This will likely take between 18-24 months to complete the project with possible extension.
Years of experience:Minimum of 4 years of experience managing data systems projects in a fast-paced environment
Required SkillsFamiliarity with database architecture and data elements; specifically normalizing databases by identifying common data elements from disparate data systems that align with project needsExperience planning, managing and delivering large, cross-functional projects on time and on budgetConsistent track record of leading projects with the ability to execute project level activities and tasks according to project scopeStrong communication and time-management skillsExcellent presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior leadershipExpert knowledge using: Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft ProjectsMinimal travel may be required to support the project; this consists of roughly 5 to 10 meetings that may require travel out of state.
Essential Functions:Collaborates with Project Management Team to set and manage timelines, milestones, deliverables, change management, issue tracking and duties essential to the success of the projectCreate and update project artifacts such as statement of work, RFP, RFI, Project Plan, etc.Provides technical expertise and direction to successfully meet information technology objectives and deadlinesMonitors, communicates and tracks progress of the vendors project schedule to ensure the project teams core activities align with vendor timeline/requirementsEnsures project deadlines are met by assigning tasks, monitoring progress and handling issues/roadblocks for the project teamCoordinates with key stakeholders to facilitate timely communication and knowledge transfer across the organizationProvides weekly status updates and/or presentations to the Executive Steering Committee
