Boeing Australia is on the lookout for an Asset & Vendor Manager to join the team in Brisbane.
The Asset & Vendor Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's assets and configurations throughout their lifecycle. This includes hardware, software, documentation, and other IT-related assets. The role involves implementing and maintaining effective asset and configuration management processes to ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards. Responsible for overseeing the relationships with external vendors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality goods and services, and optimizing vendor performance to meet organizational objectives. This role involves effective communication, negotiation skills, and strategic planning to maintain positive vendor partnerships.
The successful candidate is someone with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment who is proactive and self-motivated. With a commitment to continuous improvement and strong organizational and multitasking skills you are sure to do well in this role. Note this role is a manager of process, not people.
Position Responsibilities:
Track and manage the complete lifecycle of all organizational assets, including acquisition, deployment, utilization, and retirement.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
Understand contracts, terms, and conditions of current agreements to achieve favorable outcomes for the organisation.
Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Develop and implement asset management policies, procedures, and best practices.
Establish and maintain a configuration management database (CMDB) to track and manage configuration items (CIs), including conducting regular audits for accuracy of records
Define and enforce configuration management processes to ensure consistency and control over IT infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and organizational policies.
Implement security measures to protect sensitive configuration data.
Collaborate with other IT teams, including but not limited to IT Service Management, Change Management, and IT Operations, to ensure seamless integration of asset and configuration management processes.
Provide guidance and support to other departments on asset and configuration-related matters.
Generate regular reports on asset and configuration status, performance, and compliance.
What you might bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, desired but not essential
5-7 years’ experience in a similar role
Proven experience in asset and configuration management.
Familiarity with industry-standard asset and configuration management tools.
Strong understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
Certification in ITIL, CMDB, or related areas is a plus opportunities for cost savings.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements with the ability to obtain baseline clearance.
