INVESTMENT ANALYST -- HIGH YIELD

Federated Hermes, Inc., one of the nation's largest investment managers with over $715.2 Billion in managed assets has an exciting opportunity available immediately for an Investment Analyst on the Fixed Income High Yield team in Pittsburgh.As part of the Fixed Income team, this position conducts credit analysis and monitoring on the high yield products, including high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and equities of high yield issuers.The role will involve meeting management teams, assessing company creditworthiness, building proprietary earnings models, and publishing research for internal use.The high yield analyst will also be scoring companies on environmental, social, and governance issues.
This is a unique opportunity for an individual who has a passion for leveraged finance and can cover the entire capital structure of high yield issuers. The selected individual will be an integral part of the high yield team's process with significant responsibility covering companies in their assigned industries. This requires the ability to articulate investment opinions and be a team player.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree in business related field required; MBA and/or CFA requiredMinimum of 5 years of investment analysis experience with exposure to High Yield credit analysis and the technology sector preferredExperience with sustainable and impact investing helpfulExcellent research knowledge, analysis and decision-making skills requiredExcellent written and oral communication skillsDemonstrated understanding of financial modeling, valuation and financial statements requiredAdvanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, Bloomberg required
MAJOR DUTIES:
Enthusiastically initiate, perform and maintain high-level fundamental analysis on issuers to assess suitability of credits for inclusion in the portfolios. The investment analysis will include financial statement analysis, financial modeling, competitor analysis as well as assessment of industry, regulatory and macroeconomic trendsVigorously utilize fundamental analysis to formulate investment ideas and clearly articulate it to the portfolio managers, on a timely basis. This includes generating and diligently communicating value-added buy, sell and hold recommendations on individual credits and other relevant information to the portfolio managersIndependently and diligently seek research and remain apprised of company and industry trends. Sources include, but are not limited to, industry publications, public documents, annual reports, trade journals, interviews with management teams, and reviewing financial statements and earnings transcripts.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all research performedProactively participates in all research meetings
