Overview
This position will play an active and influential role in driving inventory supply chain analytics forward within Diageo. The individual will be expected to lead cross-functional partnership with Global, Finance, Supply and Commercial on embedding priorities such as Segmentation, Strategic Material Management, Supply Chain Resilience, Inventory Management, and Strategic Planning. The role will be a strategic partner to the SCP&L team in driving sustainable business improvement in the areas of inventory, cost & service as well as support the delivery of the Planning and Logistics operating strategy to deliver business objectives in the short term (18 month) and long term (3-5 years).
Responsibilities
Identify and embed best in class practices in Inventory Management (e.g. Manufacturing Cycle Design, Inventory Optimization modeling, Inventory Policies, Raw Material Inventory Optimization and Policies)
Dissect and ensure compliance with Global, Central Finance and Supply Finance requirements around inventory and service
Lead the development of and handle the tracking against an Inv AOP/LEs of $500M+ Drive 3-5 year Inventory Strategy, Projections, Business Partnering and Investment
Facilitate and provide leadership in identifying inventory opportunities (e.g. Vendor Inventory policies, identification of new routes to market)
Product Life Cycle Management - Engaged in end to end Product Life Cycle Management (e.g. inventory holding policies for innovation through to facilitating product discontinuation strategy)
Establish strong business partnerships with key cross-functional partners (i.e. Global, Finance, Supply and Commercial) to drive decisions, solutions and engagement
Experience
5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Management and Finance within the beverage alcohol industry or a fast-paced CPG company
Established capability and communication skills to lead, coach and influence key partners across various levels of the organization
Experience with leading and developing team of direct reports or equivalents
Demonstrated use of a variety of data analysis and organizational tools to uncover insights
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders and different teams across the organization
Organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Skills Required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong influencing skills & ability to hold others to account
Understanding of organizational data flow and its use in management decision-making
Ability to translate complex ideas into simple language
Systems experience within supply chain optimization platforms (ERP / master data, time-phased replenishment planning systems)
Solid understanding of one or more Supply Chain operational process - e.g. demand, I&BC, RCCP, Segmentation, DRP, MPS, MRP, MSM
Hands on experience in DRP, RCCP and at least one of the others
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and financial acumen
Keen project management skills and the ability to drive projects from inception to completion within the specified timelines and with accuracy
Strong adaptability and capacity to work within a demanding and aggressive project schedule and environment
Solid end to end understanding of supply chain and service, cost and cash tradeoffs
Education Required
4 year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field)
