WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Review internal financial statements with respect to cost of goods sold to test for reasonability and completeness.
Test the accuracy of the inventory standard cost versus the actual cost paid for inventory.
Provide monthly analysis by band for requested cost of sales inquiries.
Make sure Purchase Orders are received and closed in a timely manner
Liase with Accounts Payable and Purchasing teams to ensure inventory is current and accurate.
Resolve and reconcile any inventory discrepancies.
Make sure the prepayment (deposit) account is reconciled monthly.
Review and verify paperwork to satisfy SOX and internal audit procedures and standards.
Make sure inventory is valued at the correct amount.
Reconcile Perpetual inventory report to the General Ledger.
Suggest and implement process improvements for inventory procedures.
Coordinate financial information to the Tax Department for Inventory by State requirements for tax return preparation.
Assist in drafting operational and accounting policies and developing management/ monitoring processes relate to SOX auditing.
Analyze received not vouchered accrual for accuracy for each month end.
Coordinate the procedures and assist with scheduling physical inventory taking and reconciliation to the General Ledger.
Any other items requested from time to time relating to inventory and general ledger reconciliation.
Oversee year-end reconciliation procedures for inventory warehouses.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or relevant field
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, specifically working with Inventory
Strong knowledge of Excel
Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques
An analytical mind with strong attention to detail
Experience using SAP or similar systems
Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
