The department is responsible for design and validation of the combustion section of turbofan, turboprop, and turboshaft engines. The aerothermal design process uses various numerical tools, including CFD simulations, with validation testing in rigs and engines. This internship will focus on improving the CFD prediction of the combustion chamber aerodynamics and the exit temperature distribution. If you are a professional able to work quite independently and have a thorough knowledge of the discipline and the role, we invite you to apply.
Key responsibilities / What your day to day will look like:
Use ANSYS Fluent to run combustion CFD simulations.
Establish a methodology for adequate thermal boundary condition implementation.
Explore various Turbulence, Combustion, Radiation and Fuel Spray models.
Review experimental results to understand measured variables and measurement locations.
Validate the established methodology through comparison with measurements.
Summarize and present findings.
Document the findings in reports.
What you need to be successful:
Must haves:
Be eligible to work in Canada.
Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
