Description
Amazon is seeking an International Tax Analyst to join the Worldwide Reporting and Compliance team. The person in this role will focus primarily on U.S. taxation of cross-border business activities and transactions. The successful candidate will provide analysis and support of complex tax calculations, process improvements, data automation, and evaluate tax implications of legislative proposals and changes in facts. Additionally, the person in this role will assist the US and international controversy teams on tax audits.
Key job responsibilities
• U.S. tax reporting and compliance obligations for non-U.S. operations (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858)
• Researching advanced international tax issues, working with outside advisers as necessary, as part of a tax team involved in supporting business initiatives
• Coordinating and providing support across the tax team as needed with other relevant sub-teams, such as tax compliance and reporting and transfer pricing
• Remain current on developments in tax policy, tax legislation, Treasury regulations, IRS Rulings, Revenue Procedures and court decisions
• Drive process improvements and coordinate with the Direct Tax Technology team to facilitate streamlining and automation of recurring calculations
• Load, manipulate, and analyze large datasets to support various Reporting & Compliance tasks
• Collaborate in the design, develop, and document complex data analytic tools
• Research and understand potential tax legislation and participate in modeling different scenarios
• Prepare various aspects in reporting the company’s worldwide tax expense provision for Amazon’s 10-Q/10-K SEC filings
• Draft responses and provide tax-technical support to Amazon’s U.S. and international tax controversy teams in tax audits
• Liaise with a variety Amazon tax professionals and outside service providers

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
6+ months of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Preferred Qualifications
CPA
Master's degree
Knowledge of at least one data-focused technology tool, such as Python, SQL, Alteryx, Amazon QuickSight, or similar
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
Experience with Corptax tax return and provision preparation or equivalent software

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $102,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
