Position Overview:
As Employment Counsel for NetApp's EMEA and APAC regions, you will help NetApp attract, pay, and retain the best talent in the world. You will serve as a key partner and liaison between NetApp's Human Resources team and its leaders, managers, and employees. You will also guide NetApp in building a diverse and inclusive workplace, where everyone belongs. Essential Functions:
• Under the supervision of the Director Legal - Global Employment (who resides in Europe), serve as employment counsel for NetApp in its EMEA and APAC regions, advising the NetApp HR team, managers and other stakeholders on the laws and regulations affecting employees, candidates for employment, and contractors in these regions.
• Draft, review and negotiate legal documentation, such as HR policies, employment agreements, termination letters and settlement agreements.
• Provide guidance in workplace investigations.
• Build and cultivate strong relationships with the NetApp HR team and other stakeholders for purposes of providing both strategic advice and daily guidance.
• Manage and collaborate with outside counsel in defending NetApp in employment- and compliance-related litigation, claims, investigations, audits, and subpoenas, with support of outside counsel
Job Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience providing outstanding legal support to a human resources organization on a wide range of employment-related topics.
• Proven high level of integrity, professionalism, and trust, including in dealing with complex and sensitive matters. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to establish and execute on clear goals, objectives, and priorities consistent with the organization's vision.
• Demonstrated ability presenting simple, practical, and actionable information and advice to clients, including executives.
• A "Get Things Done" mindset and have the ability and willingness to learn in a fast pace and innovative technology driven company
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other employees in team and matrixed environments to meet goals and pre-defined timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to provide expedient responses to inquiries and issues, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to work at times of day necessary to support global portfolio and address events and issues happening throughout the EMEA and APAC regions .
• Limited domestic and global travel.
• Solid Microsoft skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams.
Education & Experience:
• Law degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law is required.
• In-house experience at a multinational company is preferred.
• Experience in advising on employment laws and regulations for multiple different countries in either the
EMEA or APAC region is preferred.
