Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) enter Intern, Procurement and Supply Management Engineering Services position in Montreal, QC from May – August 2024.
Job Summary
The Intern, Procurement and Supply Management (P&SM) Engineering Services is responsible for working with Category Analysts and Managers to support and drive various projects. Furthermore, the incumbent collaborates with different teams, including Engineering, Legal, Compliance, or Finance to ensure that deadlines and deliverables are met. The position contributes to P&SM’s results while learning and gaining experience from liaising with Service teams such as Mechanical Services, Design and Construction, Emergency Services, and Environment.
Major Responsibilities
Perform spend analysis and supplier market survey
Conduct analyzes for project recommendations
Collaborate with Category to build requirements for Requests for Proposal (RFP)
Work with Category in order to develop evaluation matrices, assessing proposals and recommendations, and negotiate with vendors
Collaborate with Category in preparing Award of Business (AOB) recommendation
Assist Category with closing gaps on compliance to Procurement Policy, reviewing expiring contracts, and assessing next steps
Support supplier program reviews, performance management, and governance activities
Analyze procurement processes and identify and implement improvements
Requirements
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Knows the business and stays current on industry trends
Applies analytical thinking
Fluent in French, both written and verbal*
Knowledge of Tableau and Power BI*
Education
Working towards or having completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent*Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
