　　The Middle Market Underwriting internship program is designed to prepare college students for a career in underwriting.

　　Expectations:

　　Achieve standards established for success in the program by completing daily assignments; plan and prioritize work activities to achieve desired results within necessary time framesActively participate by asking questions, volunteering answers, and assisting teammates as appropriateParticipate fully with the other interns on any group/team activities, as assigned by the managerEffectively use on-line resources, automation tools, and computer software packagesAssist in coordinating sales-process for market-facing staffUtilize analytical skill to assist in quantifying risk for middle and large commercial businessesContinuously develop and strengthen the skills required for success in the underwriting position

　　Compensation

　　The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees.
