We are looking for detail-oriented, organized, and responsible individuals who are eager to learn how to work with large and complicated data sets. Some knowledge of econometrics, as well as basic familiarity with Python is necessary, and experience with SQL and UNIX would be a plus.
These are full-time positions at 40 hours per week, with compensation being awarded on an hourly basis. You will learn how to build data sets and perform applied econometric analysis at Internet speed collaborating with economists, scientists, and product managers. These skills will translate well into writing applied chapters in your dissertation and provide you with work experience that may help you with placement.

Key job responsibilities
Apply your expertise in econometrics and causal inference modeling to develop new models, or enhance existing ones, that describe how Amazon’s marketing campaigns impact customers’ actions
Strong desire to deal with large and complex data sets in order to translate how data represents the customer journey
Collaborate effectively with other economists, scientists, and management
Review and audit modeling processes and results with peers
Work with management to align scientific developments with the business strategy
Identify new opportunities that are suggested by the data insights
Develop and document scientific research to be shared with the greater science community at Amazon
A day in the life

We are looking for a thought leader that has an aptitude for delivering customer-focused solutions and who enjoys working on the intersection of and Causal Inference, Big-Data analytics, and Machine/Deep Learning. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to think big and be creative, while still paying careful attention to detail.
About the team
Amazon’s Marketing Incrementality Measurement team is looking to spearhead the rapid growth of our Marketing Measurement solutions. The team focuses on building scalable scientific models to estimate the effectiveness of Amazon marketing efforts so as to provide actionable insights to the various marketing teams within Amazon. We work closely with business stakeholders and strive to continuously produce tangible impact on their strategic and tactical planning and operations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $49.66/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $96.63/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
