Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG/GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting with intelligence related research or, gathering and reviewing a variety of narrative and/or statistical data to assist in preparing intelligence reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Problem Solving Teamwork Technical Competence Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as International Relations, Foreign Area Studies, Political Science, Geography, Foreign Affairs, International Law, History, Economics, Demography, Engineering, Law, Sociology, Psychology, Military Science, Cartography Social or Cultural Anthropology and/or Physical or Chemical Science.
