Position Overview
AES Clean Energy Continuous Improvement team seeks a forward-thinking Instructional Designer to join our growing organization. In this position, you will support our business systems administration, analysis, and ongoing development to support our rapidly growing business. The Renewables Continuous Improvement (CI) team is the horizontal thread that ties together the vertical departments. Driving coordination, collaboration, communications, and efficiencies by applying system-level processes and optimization to keep the full team focused and aligned. Our Instructional Designer is responsible for creating and delivering effective learning experiences that help people acquire knowledge and skills. They work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design and develop training programs, courses, and instructional materials for various audiences.
Duties And Responsibilities
Analyze training needs and design effective learning experiences that meet those needs.Develop instructional materials, such as training manuals, job aids, videos, and interactive e-learning modules.Facilitate virtual/live education and training sessions for teams, organizational groups, and leadership.Create assessments and evaluations to measure learning outcomes and effectiveness of training programs.Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and relevance of training content.Use various instructional design strategies and technologies to deliver engaging and effective training programs.Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously from end-to-end.Strategically pivot project priorities and tasks based on business need adjustments.Stay current with industry trends and best practices in instructional design.
Competencies
Strong knowledge of instructional design theories, principles, and practices.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with e-learning development tools and software, such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate.Experience with video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Camtasia.
Experience with Adobe design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines (project management software experience preferred).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with learning management systems and online learning platforms.Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environment and meet deadlines on time according to requirements.Fluency in English and Spanish preferred. Relevant work experience in bilingual instructional design may be considered in lieu of a degree.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $85.000 and $114.750/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
