We are currently seeking an Installation Specialist for our Industrial Packaging Equipment service team! As an Installation Specialist you will focus on packaging equipment and packaging products within install, repair and PM projects and ensure the quality and completion of installations and repairs are achieved through ongoing collaboration and communication with clients, internal partners and installers, on-site problem solving, and interaction with clients. If you have strong organizational & time management skills, are a creative problem-solver and are familiar with construction or waterworks products, this is an excellent opportunity to grow with an industry leading organization.
This is a hybrid role supporting projects in Greater Chicago, Northern Indiana, and Southwest Michigan. As a hybrid role, this position will require occasional office visits and regular travel to client sites, concentrated in the area. Occasional overnight travel will also be required. Due to travel requirements, the incumbent will need to be based in the aforementioned area but will have the flexibility to work remote when not traveling.
This is a Hybrid role based out of either Greater Chicago, Northern Indiana, and Southwest Michigan ) location, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote.
Responsibilities:
Install packaging equipment or assist vendor and/or customer install following work accuracy standards and compliance.
Perform quality checks on the installation work to ensure proper installation practices are used.
Verify that all necessary paperwork and documentation related to the installation is completed and accurate.
Train customers on how successful operate and maintain their equipment.
Diagnose equipment issues for repair or replacement.
Track, record and process billing on installations, PMs, and repairs.
Contacts customers for scheduling of events: pre-site, delivery, repair, and installation in a timely manner.
Organizing information and data to assist in the preparation of credit memos and sales orders as needed.
Documents and organizes pre-site notes, exit checklist, change orders, pictures and invoices for processing and storage.
Work with sales to inform current and potential customers of our equipment, services, and repair capabilities.
Plan, schedule, or coordinate project activities to meet timelines.
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel.
Maintain accurate scheduled install and delivery dates based on jobsite readiness and schedule.
Walk project sites prior to delivery/install dates to confirm jobsite readiness and communicate all issues to any parties necessary.
Provide regular updates to in-house team on project work including completion rate, service issues, etc.
Assist in monitoring project financials, including tracking labor cost, staff hours, and trip count on project work.
Adhere to Company compliance and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
2+ years of industry maintenance experience required.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language, required.
Prior experience with packaging equipment, preferred but not required.
Prior contracts or service agreement experience, a plus
Experience using project routing / tracking software, a huge plus.
Ability to read and understand product specs.
Computer savvy including typing, navigating multiple software programs simultaneously and using MS Office tools, required.
Proven attention to detail coupled with organizational skills.
Ability to be flexible, adaptable and multitasking skills needed, including the ability to juggle multiple, urgent requests.
Self-starter, creative problem solver, and self-sufficient
Strong time-management skills and ability to function optimally without daily oversight from management.
Ability to travel in outlined territory.

Pay Range:

$4,083.57 - $7,868.03

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
