Broadridge is growing. We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team! New team in a new engineering function. Plan for unexpected and for opportunities to set standards / policies. Also plan for frequent involvement in day-to-day incidents (operations) until you mature the environment. Global organization with colleagues from overseas and work engagements outside of core business hours.
What you will doDesign, deploy, and administer VMware based infrastructure.Input into Private Cloud strategy and infrastructure roadmap.Prepare project plans, provide estimates for project tasks, and assist with prioritization in relation to capacity planning and performance analytics.Collaborate with vendors, manage service providers and colleagues.Oversee operations, establish process and standard operating procedures.Be the last line defense and escalation point for high severity production incidents.Build OS images, patch bundles, scripts and automation.Deploy and manage vSphere, vRA, vRO, Zerto.Write code in PowerShell/ Python/Ruby/Go.Basic Qualifications
5+ years in a similar roleAbility to clearly communicate orally and in writing with engineers, vendors, managers, business, clients.Ability to write standard operating procedures, documentation, strategy documents and roadmapsSolid knowledge of VMware ESXi 6.x and7.x, VMware vCenter server 6.5, 6.7 & 7 including VMware Cloud Foundation components.Knowledge ESXi CLI, vSphere PowerCLIDeep understanding of resiliency technologies (DRS, HA, FT)Comfortable in several scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Go, etc).Understanding of SAN, multi-path and storage technologies (vSAN / Zerto)Preferred Qualifications: Good understanding of centralized configuration management, orchestration, and infrastructure as code techniques (Ansible or Chef, Terraform).Kubernetes and container platforms (Tanzu / Openshift)Experience with Observability / Monitoring tooling - Datadog, Splunk, ELK.Experienced on NSX-V & NSX-T implementation along with micro-segmentation.Certification of VMware 6.5 Data Center Virtualization (VCP6.5-DCV) or equivalent.Certification of VMware- Network Virtualization (VCP6-NV) or equivalent.#LI-Hybrid
