Position Overview
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Information Technology Intern (Part-Time) position in the Department of Information Technology. This recruitment is specifically for Information Security and the consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Information Security: Under close direction and supervision, assists with various tracking and updating functions related to information security. Works extensively with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint. Provides administrative assistance for information security program, projects and tasks. Gathers, documents, and updates information relating to information security plans, policies, and procedures. Assists with information security testing as needed.
Current Vacancy Information:
This is a part-time, non PERS-eligible position
This position is not eligible for any benefits
Work schedule will consist of an average of 19 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department need
May be required to work a flexible work schedule
If selected for this vacancy within Information Security, the incumbent may be scheduled any day Monday through Thursday.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Training and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to satisfactorily perform on the job.
May be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university program with a major in Information Technology or a closely related field.
Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check.
Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment.
Desirable: Graduate of a college, university, or technical program related to the work.
