Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Information System Security Officer to join our team in the Washington, D.C. This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provides information assurance support for Government programs, legacy systems, and future systems to be acquired.
Supports the customer in achieving the program approval for Authorization to Operate (ATO); implements and manages NIST 800-53 Rev. 4 Security Controls; and develops, maintains, and manages Security Authorization and Assessment (A&A) packages that include System Security Plans (SSP), Contingency Plans (CP), and other relevant security documentation for existing and new systems.
Aligns systems activities to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
Identifies and supports system interconnection security requirements, and provides support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
Supports the development and enhancement of systems security policies, standards, and procedures.
Tracks implementation and compliance and supports evaluating security solutions of legacy systems and future systems being developed to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.
Supports vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation (C&A).
Prepares and reviews documentation to include Systems Security Plans (SSP), Risk Assessment Reports, and C&A packages, and supports Government security authorization activities in compliance with the NSA/CSS Information System C&A Process (NISCAP).
Reviews system security to accommodate changes to policy or technology, evaluate IT threats and vulnerabilities to determine whether additional safeguards are needed.
Advises the Government concerning the impact levels for confidentiality, integrity, and availability for the information on a system, and conducts certification tests that include verification that the features and assurances required for each protection level are in place.
Basic Qualifications:
A CompTIA Security+ certification
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, computer science, or software
A minimum of (3) three years of related experience
Knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols or encryption techniques/tools.
Must be familiar with NIST and CMS security documentation, including but not limited to NIST 800-53, NIST 800-63, CMS Acceptable Risk Safeguards (ARS), CMS Risk Management Handbook (RMH) and CMS Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) Controls Tracking System (CFACTS).
Preferred Qualifications:
A master's degree in engineering, technology, computer science, or software
A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Project, and/or SharePoint
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain DHS suitability
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
