Job Summary
Dolby's Information Development & Experience (IDX) team's vision is to accelerate the understanding of Dolby technologies. The team's mission is to provide clear and essential information so that customers meet their needs successfully using Dolby technologies.
An Information Developer develops information experiences through curating documentation, multimedia, and scalable processes for maintaining shared knowledge. They are the information experience driver, collaborating with subject matter experts across Dolby offices worldwide and leveraging knowledge tools to identify essential content that needs to be written, extracted, or generated and subsequently delivered to our customers so that they can implement Dolby technologies successfully. Being comfortable in code and revision control systems, they work alongside engineers to create, revise, edit, and design various types of technical information.
An Information Developer's role includes co-ownership of technical information for several large and complex projects. With the advent of generative AI, combined with application of UX research and data, information development is evolving significantly. We are looking for an Information Developer who is excited to join us on this journey.
Key Responsibilities: Distill information from multiple sources to product concise, accurate, and relevant documentation within the agreed timelines, tailored to the user personas. Collaborate with stakeholders in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Management, UX, and Support to build a cohesive narrative for technical information, that takes into consideration the user persona and applies available data. Align on project priorities and negotiate timelines based on objectives, project requirements, and ongoing tasks, Basic understanding of generative AI and willingness to explore. Curious about process improvements for generating and delivering optimized information to users. Shares knowledge and experiences across the team. Interested in industry trends and experimenting with emerging technologies. Preferred Qualifications: Writing is one of your key strengths. Excellent command of the English language with 2-3 years of documenting software or similar. Experience with writing and refining technical information for customers and end-users. Bachelor's degree or professional certification in Technical Communication, Mass Communication, Information Design, or a related field. Understanding of. Technical writing formats, such as docs-as-code methodology, DITA, XML, and Markdown. Basic understanding of UX research, application of user data/analytics, personalized instructional information, and emerging technologies, such as generative AI. Strong analytical thinking problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Working knowledge of SCRUM/Agile methodologies. Ability to work independently and contribute to information initiatives. Effectively communicated and collaborates with global team members. Open to experiment with recent technologies and continuously build new skills. Basic knowledge of tools, including Content Management Systems, Oxygen XML Editor, GIT, Jira, Confluence, and MS Office Suite. #LI-SW1
The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $84,500 - $101,500 which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
