The Retail Industry Principal will build strategic and ongoing partnerships with Zebra’s marketplace including both customers and partner ecosystem. The Industry Principal is responsible for providing industry expertise and thought leadership to prospects, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Zebra prioritizes company culture and investments within its organization, specifically its people. This role has development opportunities into Sales, more senior advisory roles, people leadership or general management.
**This is a US remote opportunity and the candidate must live close to a major airport.
50% domestic travel is expected.
Responsibilities:
Sales Engagement
Following the Sales organization identifying a viable opportunity, the Industry Principal engages as member of the IMPACT team and supports the account team to turn high probability leads into qualified opportunities and accelerate the time to closure.
The Industry Principal will engage with clients to provide critical workflow analysis, identifying pain points and opportunities to enhance GTM strategy, implement workflows improvements, and define required infrastructure to support recommended enhancements.
Defined workflow analysis and design recommendations will map Zebra portfolio to outlined improved efficiencies and positive customer ROI, leveraging internal cross-functional engagement (Strategy, Marketing, Product Management, etc) to demonstrate industry expertise, delivering executive level proposals.
The desire of the workflow analysis and solution deliverables are to generate Zebra solution implementations as well as create ongoing trusted advisor engagements.
Sales Support
Support the sales team providing industry expertise, strategic direction and assistance in executive of RFP’s, demonstrations, presentations, and deal strategy as required/necessary.
Provide internal education and knowledge transfer to Sales and associated business partners, coaching them on industry best practices and their alignment to Zebra’s solution portfolio.
Market Thought Leadership & Cross-Functional Support
Be a visible industry expert externally (press, media interviews, speaking engagements, trade association participation, partner conferences, publish papers, etc.) to build brand visibility and pursue prospective engagements.
Participate in industry events, conference booth tours, media interviews, and partner meetings.
Provide industry specific guidance to multiple internal stakeholder groups (Strategy, Marketing, Product Development, etc), assess competitive offerings, and communicate functional requirements regarding GTM solutions.
Provide guidance to Strategy, Leadership, and Operational teams on GTM performance standards and metrics to ensure that reporting, dashboarding and analytics projects reflect industry terminology and KPI’s.
Represent voice of market through active participation in Customer Advisory Board activities
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
8+ years of industry specific experience working internally within, or in a consultant capacity, with customer base.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GTM best practices within a specific vertical market or industry - RETAIL.
Ability to demonstrate understanding of sales, marketing, finance, and business processes related to GTM programs in designated industry.
Willingness to travel 50% of time
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to quickly engage senior-level executives at current client companies by building relationships, establishing credibility, conducting substantive content discussions, diagnosing needs, solving problems, and identifying relevant resources.
Full knowledge of all relevant business policies and practices; strong ability to energize and lead others.

Salary: USD 139800.00 - USD 209800.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement.
