Description
The Platform Engineer will design, develop, and deploy complex infrastructure operating platforms and solutions while providing technical expertise to clients and internal teams. This position will create and implement platforms that manage and support various software applications and processes. The Platform Engineer will partner with cross-functional teams to implement enterprise and software solutions based on Burns & McDonnell’s core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service.
Design, develop and deploy complex infrastructure and network solutions.
Develop and deploy automation scripts to optimize infrastructure management.
Partner with cross-functional teams to design and deploy automation scripts and enterprise software solutions to optimize infrastructure management.
Monitor the security and compliance of all assigned infrastructure solution systems and network infrastructure.
Resolve complex technical issues, including system outages.
Develop and deploy new software and test applications.
Develop and deploy infrastructure and network systems.
Respond to security incidents and provide remediation guidance.
Participate in the development and deployment of security systems and policies to protect the organization’s information.
Monitor systems from unauthorized access, theft, and damage.
Analyze security alerts and threats and respond appropriately to prevent data breaches and other security incidents.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in technology, business, or a related field from an accredited program is required. Applicable years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in infrastructure and network systems design, deployment and management, system engineering, or related experience.
Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to partner on work and resolve issues in a team environment.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to work methodically and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, and collaboration.
Experience with Python and React software development.
Experience with security systems and policies and experience in vulnerability management and remediation.
Experience with cloud technologies, automation scripts, and infrastructure management.
