The Wireless Power Technology team is pioneering new ways of charging your devices. Our flagship product’s name, the MagSafe charger, says it all. Bringing all these aspects together requires careful orchestration of electromagnetism, passive and active electronics, state-of-the-art safety algorithms, communication over inductive links, and, of course, an appealing product design. We rely on rigorous engineering design principles and a data-driven approach to predicting performance across a range of operating conditions. We are looking for a hands-on application architect who is strong in core EE areas – analog circuits and digital signal processing. The candidate will help develop and ship next-generation communication architecture for inductive charging products. This role will have broad exposure to a variety of features that span a number of our products, and will collaborate with subject-matter experts from multiple domains. The successful candidate will be fluent in simulation and modeling tools (SPICE, MATLAB, C, Python). They will be responsible for ensuring that new technologies are successfully developed and productized. They will work with product-integration teams by providing quantitative predictions of expected failure rates, analyze factory and validation reports, root-cause issues, and propose architectural innovations as needed.
Key Qualifications
Proven experience in basic circuits (e.g., RLC's, diodes, FET's), and circuit simulations (e.g., SPICE, Cadence)
Experience in Digital signal processing and communication (e.g., digital filters, FFT, sampling theory, modulation schemes)
Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and debugging
Scripting and software tools — Python, MATLAB, C
Working knowledge in signal processing, digital communication, and analog circuits
Experience using bench equipment – oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies
Excellent documentation, organizational and presentation skills
Description
• Develop innovative, new digital communication architectures for inductive links • Drive implementation of the design and verify the implementation • Develop and maintain analog and digital simulation models of communication modules • Bring-up, debug and optimize the design over the full range of operating modes • Use simulations to provide quantitative predictions of packet failure rates
Education & Experience
BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
