Meta is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager to manage compliance, reporting & governance for the EU, Middle East and Africa region for a large number of Meta entities. The Indirect Tax Manager role is critical to the success of the Tax Department and will support the rapid growth of our business in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa ("EMEA") region. This is an individual contributor role. As the Indirect Tax Manager, you will support all areas of EMEA indirect compliance; planning, audit defense, and tax governance for the entities under management. In addition, you will assist our team with operationalisation for new B2C regimes (i.e. supply of electronic services to consumers) which are implemented in the regime; working directly with our New Product Initiatives team in the US.
Indirect Tax Manager Responsibilities:
Supporting indirect tax compliance and leading our EMEA ITX governance and control teamMonitor and manage indirect tax compliance to ensure Meta is compliant with local laws and policies to prevent potential issues with tax audits and regulatory bodiesReview key performance indicators. Present at monthly update meetings with ITX compliance team and outsource partnersProactively identify weaknesses in current processes and procedures relating to indirect tax matters and identify solutions including automation so that issues are resolved in a timely mannerComplete the operationalisation for new B2C regimes (i.e. supply of electronic services to consumers) which are implemented in the regime, working directly with our New Product Initiatives team in the US. Providing support and tactical insights on devising strategies to manage the VAT audit process. This can be with respect to VAT only Audits, or full tax audit where VAT is a part of the auditFor VAT only audits manage the end to end process, full project management role. This includes engaging with advisors and co-ordinate calls, information sharing etc for VAT auditsReviewing the VAT issues under audit, performing audit readiness assessment and co-operate data requirementsReviewing and responding to VAT information requestsAssist in the monthly and year-end tax provision processWork closely with the other cross functional partners providing all required tax support, including coordinating and working with external advisors and financial auditors as neededMinimum Qualifications:
Significant experience in indirect tax compliance & governance and audit managementAbility to communicate and present indirect tax matters succinctly to managementExperience managing regional indirect tax for a large multinational companyAnalytical and strategic planning backgroundAbility to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally within the businessInclusive people leadership of diverse teamsPreferred Qualifications:
