Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chinese Import/Export Specialist to join our team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the import and export activities of our company, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers. This role requires fluency in both English and Chinese, as well as a deep understanding of Chinese and U.S. customs procedures, tariffs, and shipping logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Import/Export Operations: Oversee and manage all aspects of the import and export process, including documentation, customs clearance, and shipping logistics.
Compliance: Ensure that all import/export activities comply with U.S. and Chinese customs regulations, including tariff classification, duty payments, and other legal requirements.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date import/export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and other required forms.
Supplier Customer Relations: Communicate effectively with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers in China and the U.S. to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Customs Procedures: Stay informed about changes in customs laws and regulations in both the U.S. and China, and advise management on the implications for the company’s operations.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to shipping delays, customs holds, or other logistical challenges.
Inventory Management: Coordinate with the inventory and purchasing teams to ensure accurate tracking and replenishment of stock levels.
Reporting: Generate regular reports on import/export activities, including cost analysis, shipping timelines, and compliance status.
Cultural Liaison: Serve as a cultural liaison to bridge communication and operational gaps between the company and Chinese business partners.
Requirements
Fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) is required.
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, including customs procedures and tariff classifications.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with import/export software systems.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based in Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. Local candidates are preferred.
