Job Overview:
The Human Resources Coordinator will report directly to the Human Resources Manager and report to the Chief Leadership Officer.This is a primarily remote position, but individual must be able and willing to travel to the network office and school campuses as needed. Candidate must be local to the Philadelphia or Wilmington area. In this role, this team member would honor Freire Schools' commitment to inclusion and equity through the responsibilities outlined below.
Responsibilities:
Benefits
Assist in the development process for open enrollmentsAdminister employee benefit programs such as group health, dental and visionReconcile and submit 403b retirement and pension contributionsMinimize the disparities between the number of staff members who don't complete benefit enrollment and the overall number of staff who doProvide guidance in the benefit administration process to make it more equitable for all staff members
Employee Life Cycle
Create and maintain offer letters and stipends for employeesAdminister the onboarding and offboarding processes of the employee life cycleMaintain and update information in HRIS databasesInitiate new hire clearance process and maintain database holding employee clearancesManage time-sensitive tasks that include but are not limited to unemployment compensation, wage garnishments and benefits administrationTroubleshoot and problem solve employee questions including but not limited to compensation, benefits and compliance
Payroll
Administer the distribution of pay to employees on a semi monthly basisProvide payroll related administrative assistance to the accounting departmentMaintain the databases of salary information, stipend pay outs, sign-on bonuses, etc.Create and send out salary amendments and stipend contracts
Compliance
Make strategic decisions based on the most current employment law and inform staff of appropriate handbook policies where applicableUpdate and modify employee handbooks and provide recommendations to change policies where inequities existAssist Human Resources Manager in completing benefit and compensation annual reporting requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred2+ years' experience in an administrative role preferredProficient in the use of spreadsheets and data tracking Experience with Paycom a plus, but not requiredMust be highly organized and detail orientedStrong interpersonal communication skills
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $45,000-65,000 a year
