Job Description
The Leave Specialist is the primary contact for providing direct support forleave-related relations from intake and processing to return to work. Thisprofessional manages and optimizes employee leave from beginning to end.Ent's goal for leave management is to manage our team member's leave in anequitable, fair, compliant, and accurate manner while enabling ourbusiness to continue to thrive. This supportive and empathetic specialistserves as the primary contact for all leave requests; they verify and trackleave-related absences and correspond as necessary with team members andmanagement to effectively manage leave. This experienced individualcontributor also appropriately routes requests from employees to others foradditional information and ensures Ent remains compliant with state andfederal laws. Working in close partnership with Ent's Human ResourceBusiness Partners (HRBP) and Management, the Leave Specialist navigatesand is accountable for return-to-work processes including a determination forreasonable accommodations and a variety of leave and disability-relatedtransactions. This individual will also remain informed of any changesimpacting the delivery, process, etc. for all types of leave and mayrespond to inquiries via online resources and/or telephone. They will inputemployee information into human resources software (HRIS) and/ordocument activities as requested. They will act as an employee advocate whileworking with leadership to find the best solution for the employee and ourbusiness needs with HRBP support and ongoing support while ensuring we remainin compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations toensure the accuracy of reporting to 3rd party vendors.
Essential FunctionsEmployee Leave Process Owner: Serve as the main point of contact foremployees seeking leave. Ensure compliance with state and federal requirementsfor all leave-related processes and procedures. Keep Ent team members informedabout leave processes and procedures. Provide training to managers andemployees. Optimizing existing procedures where possible. Coordinate leaveprograms/disability benefits to include but not limited to Family MedicalLeave Act (FMLA), Colorado Family and Medical Leave Insurance(FAMLI), Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA),Short-term disability (STD), Long-term disability (LTD), and PaidParental Leave (PPL), Americans with Disabilities (ADA), andPersonal Leave of Absence (LOA) and the Uniformed Services Employment andRe-employment Rights Act (USERRA). Remain up to date on all applicable changesAbsence tracking and data entry: Manage employee timecards on leave. Correcttimecards, while using appropriate leave codes, and manage benefitdeductions for all on leave. Monitor, manage, and track leave of absencecases including general administration, end-to-end case management,processing extended leave requests, overseeing the HR-level auditing of theprogram, and program compliance.Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership on return to work (as anadvocate for the employee), approvals, denials, extensions, etc.Advise managers on how leave laws interact with paid time off and ot errelatedEmployee advocacy and return to work process: Oversight of outstandingissues, auditing employee records at least bi-weekly, managing employeereturns / return to work process, and records filing.Vendor Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for all vendorsinvolved with leave. Make alternate recommendations to management aboutdeterminations and recommendations provided by third-party vendors andconsultants.Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies andprocedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Qualifications
Minimum Formal Qualifications for this PositionHigh School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent.6+ years' human resources experience in benefits, employee relations,and/or payroll to include:2+ years' experience managing state/federal leaves.Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in arelevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of abachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience couldbe substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accountingwork experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of workexperien
