The HRIS Analyst Manager, reporting to the Assistant Vice President of HR Benefits, Analytics and Information Systems, provides leadership and supervision to the 4 FTE HRIS Analyst team. The position manages all the HRIS analyst processes and work deliverables and will have primary responsibility for the management of the HR Hierarchy. The position regularly, in partnership with the AVP, does liaison work with the ISC, UWIT, UW Medicine, UWFT and other data and information partners across the UW. This working manager role will continue to perform HRIS analyst duties, providing requirements analysis, documentation and testing on complex HRIS projects and assist developers in HRIS in building and maintaining complex SQL queries, Reporting Services Reports and SSIS packages.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 30% - Team Leadership
Supervise team of four HR Analysts, ensuring they are achieving deliverables accurately and on time.
Ensure individual and team goals are created and actively tracked.
Act as the first point of escalation for all HR Analyst needs.
Manage HRIS Analyst business process creation and implementation.
Manage HRIS deliverables.30% - Business Analyst
Lead users through discussions regarding the current state, and future state of a process or system; and assist subject matter experts (SMEs) and business owners in producing high-quality documentation of the current and desired future state.
Perform complex gap analysis of processes and systems.
Work with SMEs and business owners to document high quality system requirements.
Work with SMEs and business owners to deliver system documentation, including technical and functional guides.
Work with SME’s and business owners to produce user guides for HRIS systems.
Lead the creation and implementation of test plans.
Organize business processes and take lead responsibility for the implementation and sustainment of HR Org as part of UW Financial Transformation.30% - Info and Support Analyst
Information management efforts such as developing reports, fulfilling information and records requests, and developing a solid understanding of HR’s data are a key portion of HRIS' work and of this role.
This position requires advanced SQL skills that will be used to pull, aggregate, and document large data sets. The position also requires strong Microsoft Access, Excel and VBA skills, these will be used to support and maintain custom applications.
Develop Microsoft Reporting Services reports, using tools such as Office Writer and Enesys reporting tool to present data in an application layer to HRIS customers.10% - Miscellaneous
Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or Business or related field and at least six years of experience. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 2 years using SQL (or programming languages) to extract and present data out of complex multi-layer environments.
Minimum of 2 years working with business clients to develop requirements and system documentation.
Minimum of 2 years developing enterprise level reports in a production environment.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience analyzing and explaining complex data sets.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the IT industry. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ideal applicant will work well as part of a team while in a leading role, but is also able to work independently when needed.
Ideal applicant will have experience with the Microsoft BI suite including reporting services, SSIS, and SSAS. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Hybrid, at least two days in office per week. Position responsibilities may exceed normal work hours and require some evening and weekend work.
