JOB SUMMARY: The Housekeeping inspector holds a supervisory position that oversees all housekeeping, house persons and laundry operations. Performs various inspections within guest rooms upon check-in and check-out to ensure all procedures are completed to the hotels and guest standards. Address guest complaints to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Maintain inventory of all supplies. Must possess excellent organizational skills and be detail-orientated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound decisions and familiar with current practices and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Greets and welcomes customers with a smile, and takes pride in being an Akwesasne Mohawk Casino team member.
Develop and train housekeeping staff in all areas of department.
Assign guest room keys and pagers to assigned staff.
Coordinates the housekeeping staff to ensure that the hotel meets all cleanliness and condition requirements.
Be the primary contact between housekeeping personnel and other staff members to make certain that rooms are ready for guests and deliver amenities and help clean rooms as needed.
Responsible for recording inspection results, resolving quest complaints and maintaining accommodation standards.
Serves as hotel representative and customer service role model for other employees.
Maintain accurate records and ensure security of keys and assets.
Inspect guest rooms prior to guest arrival.
Conduct inspections upon guest departure to assess any damages that may have occurred.
Prepare all paperwork to complete work orders for maintenance and purchase supplies if necessary.
Understands, values, and supports the Guest Service Standards.
Ability to work as a team member
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
Observes and adheres to Akwesasne Mohawk Casino safety policies and procedures
Professional appearance and demeanor prefer 1-2 years employment in a related position.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all housekeeping and house person staff to ensure the hotel meets specified standards and implement Standard Operating Procedures.. Provide effective communication between associates and Management and maintain harmony and resolve grievances when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty reasonably. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required, with previous experience in a supervisory position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write simple correspondence. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must push, pull and or lift 50 to 100 pounds. Must maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino/hotel environment and effectively deal with customers, management, associates and members of the business community in all situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION: Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk tribal gaming work permit which requires a criminal background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substance prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino or Mohawk Bingo Palace. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
