Hosts are responsible for welcoming guests and ensuring that they areseated and receive attentive service. Cashiers operate a cash register, communicate withcustomers, and assist other restaurant staff as needed. Responsibilitiesin this career can include processing credit card payments, acceptingcash payments, breaking change, and using a point of sale (POS) systemfor transactions. Restaurant cashier duties also involve greetingguests, helping resolve customer complaints, and maintaining knowledgeof the menu and sales policies.
