Job Summary:
Will be responsible for coordinating complex scheduling procedures across multiple radiology modalities (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Women’s Imaging, etc). Coordinate schedules across multiple locations for Upstate Radiology locations: UH, CGH, Nappi Wellness Institute, UHCC, and 550 Harrison. Utilizing an in-depth understanding of the scheduling requirements for each area, and an extensive knowledge of hospital and departmental services, will ensure the patient is scheduled in the appropriate place/time and all pre-requisites are met. Responsible for obtaining accurate and complete order information at the time of scheduling, requesting additional information/documentation and pertinent medical records if needed, entering patient demographic information, insurance information and authorization details, and communicating detailed appointment information and preparation instructions to referring provider’s office or patient. Must be articulate and demonstrate excellent customer service skills, presenting a positive image to all callers, including but not limited to referring physicians, patients, and office personnel. Must have the ability to accurately keyboard while talking simultaneously to patients and providers to ensure accurate and complete documentation of the interaction at the time of closure of the call. Must have the ability to multitask and oscillate between callers with a variety of needs utilizing tact, diplomacy, and ability to prioritize. Will need to become proficient managing multiple scheduling, registration, and call center applications.
Minimum Qualifications: New York State Department of Civil Service Eligible List or eligible for transfer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work independently, medical terminology, knowledge of hospital information systems (EPIC/PACS) and Microsoft Office preferred.
Work Days:
Schedule based on a 40-hour work week, Monday – Friday Days. May be asked to work outside of normal shift, based on departmental needs.
