SCOPE
The Health and Safety (HS) Manager manages the overall Health & Safety Programs as well as the Security Team. This team develops, implements, and administers a comprehensive environmental health and safety services, policies, and procedures at the Frankfort facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure compliance of plans and programs, routine operations, documentation and reporting for company standards and governmental regulations for Safety, IH, Fire Systems, Security and Worker's Compensation. Develop, implement, execute, and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries, and environmental incidents. Conduct EHS activities such as training/auditing/assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/ or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures. Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use. Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the location leadership to drive continuous EHS improvement across the location. Role Responsibilities cont. Complete root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots using industry-recognized cause analysis techniques Coach leaders at all levels within the organization and use strong influencing skills around EHS goals/ values and that a strong EHS culture ensures business productivity targets can be met Maintain repository of first aids, near misses, and hazards identified to insure completion of corrective actions. Identify issues, coach and lead field locations in development of a corrective action plan to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques (e.g. 5-Why) Lead and manage direct reports in daily activities, as well as helping to develop their skills professionally Serve as Occupational Health & Safety Management Representative (OHS) for ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System. This includes performing routine audits, maintaining the Compliant Pro database and ensuring the applicable HS management is properly executed and conforms to ISO 45001. Maintain working knowledge of all OSHA, DOT and relevant HS regulations, at both federal and state levels. Work closely with an employee lead safety team. Strong employee engagement skills Supervise Security issues, Schedules, Payroll and PTO Qualifications Minimum five to seven years of Health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum two to three years of supervisory experience Complete Incident investigations to a root causes and solid correct actions. Demonstrate solid employee relations experience, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. Display strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in safety performance. Working knowledge of fire pumps, fire alarms, wet and dry sprinkler systems Thorough knowledge of Federal and State safety, OSHA and DOT ISO 45001 and ISO 18001 Internal Auditor and / or Lead Auditor Training desired. Familiarity with process pumps, valves, and motors, etc. is required. Must have good general mobility, be able to climb stairs, walk up to 100 yards, stoop and bend to collect samples. Good communication skills. Must have valid driver's license.
