Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight as required for power-plant activates. In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned commensurate with individual certifications, qualifications, and skills. Types of tasks RP Technicians may perform include the following:
radiation and contamination surveysmaterial and equipment surveysrelease of personnel and materialmaterial escortALARA planningassisting with decontamination activitiessupport of Site Emergency Plan
coverage of primary work activities same as JR coverage.
Education / Training RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GEDSatisfy all requirements required to obtain a Level II Nuclear Access BadgeEducation and experience meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI Standard N-18.1 (1971).Education and experience meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI Standard N-3.1 (1978).Competition of GAP training / CIRP Task of the NISP-RP-12 (Nuclear Industry Standard Process)Individual workers may be assigned to specific task requiring specialized training.
