Who we are looking for
The Head of US FI Credit Risk will have full oversight and ownership for the evaluation of credit and portfolio risks associated with the FI and Muni counterparts, both at portfolio and counterparty level.
The Head of US FI Credit Risk will be responsible for the following:
Maintenance and management of an appropriate risk appetite framework, and supporting policies and processes, for transacting with FI and Muni globallyOversight of all FI and Muni approvals by the global team, within the context of the delegated authorities, including those under personal delegated authority.Liaise with business units to conduct counterparty due diligence program and establish sound connections with FI and Muni counterpartsConduct portfolio analytics and associated reports for use by senior management, committee submissions, as well as regulatory tests and annual strategy paperMaintain and upgrade critical quantitative toolsLead a variety of departmental risk management and project assignmentsProvide quantitative training/mentoring to junior staff members
The Head of FI Credit will support a number of business areas, including Global Credit Finance, Global Markets, Global Treasury, and Global Custody. The position will be a key part of the Global Credit team, providing a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic risk management environment.

What you will be responsible for
As Head of US FI Credit you will:
Analyze new strategic business requests, risk/reward and develop/communicate ERM risk appetite while adhering to Credit Risk GuidelinesResponsible for oversight of all credit decisions, including exception approvals, within delegated credit authorities, and subject to application of State Street's stated risk appetite and application of policies and proceduresActively monitor the creditworthiness of FI and Muni counterparties and market developments and provide timely credit updates to senior risk managers and business unit constituents, if and when necessaryEngage in new regulatory initiatives, ensuring risk management procedures and compliance are well establishedExhibit knowledge of the content and structuring of legal documentation governing businesses within one's responsibilityParticipate in special projects as assignedPromote and support a culture of effective challengeMaintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity and ensure compliance with company policies, statute and regulatory requirements

Education & Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of FI and/or Muni counterparty credit risk management in a global financial institution, or related experience, with a broad knowledge of credit and capital market productsMBA and/or CFA strongly preferred (or equivalent)Robust understanding of capital markets and respective regulatory landscape including familiarity with global capital markets and understanding of associated risks - macro, rates, currencies, equities, and bondsStrong analytical experience and or formal training of Hedge Fund strategies and associated risks.Knowledge of and ability to negotiate credit provisions in ISDA, Repo and Sec Lending agreementsStrong attention to detail and analytical skills for preparing and/or reviewing credit approval requestsAbility to work well both independently and in a team environment and collaborate on time sensitive credit approval requests
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $202,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
