About Head of Scale AI

  Vanguard, a global leader in investment management, is seeking an innovative and experienced Head of Scale AI for Personal Investor business to lead our cutting-edge initiatives in scaling and driving efficiency in operations from the use of GenAI and other technologies. This role will play a pivotal role in driving the development and execution of AI/ML strategies in support of Knowledge Management Systems, Call Center Technologies, and Conversational Systems such as Chatbots and IVR. As the Head of Scale AI, you will lead a team of data scientists and collaborate closely with product owners, technology stewards, architects, and business partners to drive innovation and create competitive advantage by leveraging AI/ML techniques including GenAI to develop and deploy differentiating capabilities to scale Personal Investor operations.

  Role Overview:

  Vanguard, a global leader in investment management, is seeking an innovative and experienced Head of Scale AI for Personal Investor business to lead our cutting-edge initiatives in scaling and driving efficiency in operations from the use of GenAI and other technologies. This role will play a pivotal role in driving the development and execution of AI/ML strategies in support of Knowledge Management Systems, Call Center Technologies, and Conversational Systems such as Chatbots and IVR. As the Head of Scale AI, you will lead a team of data scientists and collaborate closely with product owners, technology stewards, architects, and business partners to drive innovation and create competitive advantage by leveraging AI/ML techniques including GenAI to develop and deploy differentiating capabilities to scale Personal Investor operations.

  Responsibilities:Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify and implement solutions aligned with business targets and objectives.Build, leverage internal assets, partner with external solution providers and vendor solutions to mature the use of advanced AI/ML techniques and technologies and drive scalable business outcomes.Stay current with emerging technologies and techniques, evaluating and guiding fit with organizational technical architecture, capabilities, and strategy.Take accountability for the successful planning and execution of all AI/ML workstreams as part of the Scale AI program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.Manage and lead a team of data scientists, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.Define and promote responsible AI best practices in deploying and monitoring AI/ML capabilities.Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to evidence-driven decision-making, embodying a strong bias for chasing evidence and meticulously organizing AI/ML experiments to drive business transformation.Qualifications:Master's or PhD in a quantitative/statistical field10+ years of experience in the data science space with a minimum of 3 years directly managing data science functions.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing data science teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Strong expertise in data analysis, deep/machine learning, and statistical modeling.Strong expertise in cloud-based cognitive services such as Sagemaker, Vertex AI, or AzureStrong expertise in developing and deploying end-to-end AI/ML solutions.Strong expertise with NLP/NLU/Generative/Conversational AI technologies and methodologiesDemonstrated experience in the developing Generative AI solutions for knowledge management, call intelligence, or conversational AI systems such as Chatbots.Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills around delivering business impactful data science solutions.Ability to conceptualize and deploy complex AI/ML solutions in agile methods within a highly matrixed program structure.Strong communication skills to articulate the value and method of data science solutions to both non-technical and technical audiences.Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersOther requirements:
