Job Description As a trusted HR Business Partner, this role will be responsible for providing advice, coaching, counsel and problem solving to the organization and acts as a focal point to provide human resources solutions for the Japan affiliate. The role will interface with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver consistent, scalable solutions across the affiliate.
In this role, s/he will be responsible for the development and execution of HR strategies and activities that drive organizational growth, team effectiveness, and team engagement. The HRBP will be responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships across the affiliate, as well as within the global Human Resources organization
Key accountabilities for this position are:
Provides HR generalist support for clients to implement and manage human resources processes, including:
Provides direction and coaching for people managers on a variety of employee issues including: performance management, talent acquisition, compensation planning, and employee relationsPartners closely with the Leadership team on setting a people strategy for the countryPartners with the compensation team on job analysis and evaluation to determine job level, base salary and career ladders. Supports the delivery of people tools (Org Review, 360, people planning, people survey) that drive sustainability of the businessProvides workforce planning and implementation expertiseProvides HR consultation to the leadership team based on HR expertise and business knowledgeWorks with clients and other HR partners to manage and address employee relations issues, including: performance management, corrective actions, leaves of absences and complaint investigation and resolution and employment separationSupports coaching and development initiatives for team members through the identification of development opportunities and capability gapsBuilds collaborative working relationships with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) functions to roll out corporate-wide programs and ensure client’s needs are understood and metManages HR Operations locally and ensures consistent service delivery for payroll and benefitsPartners with global benefits organization on creation of, or changes to, benefit programs or vendorsEnsures appropriate adherence to local labor laws and compliance related reportingAct a consultant and advisor with evolving and significant understanding of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to further learning and capability within client group, own function, and broader organizationWorks in partnership with DE&I, the HR community, and the ERNs to build a strong internal and external reputation as a great place to work for all and cultivate a strong external network of appropriate D&I connections Utilizes the HR dashboard to understand diversity metrics, and review data regularly to reinforce and inspire action, accountability and outcomes
Qualifications 10+ years of experience in progressively responsible roles in human resources, including human resources business partner or HR generalist rolesCredible human resources businessperson with unquestionable integrity who will be acknowledged as a trusted partner and functional expert and who is curious about learning the business. Self-motivated, confident individual who is comfortable operating with minimal direction and who thrives in a dynamic environment as a leader influencing changeDemonstrated ability to build credibility among senior management and peers to gain commitment and support for major initiatives while placing company’s interests firstMission-driven individual with strong levels of perseverance; works toward both individual and team goalsDemonstrates the ability to be involved at various levels and willingness to “roll up one’s sleeves” to do what it takes to drive results in the right wayExperience with various HR technology platformsExperience working in a global, matrixed HR Organization Strong program / project management skills Education
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, HR management, business management, or a related field
