Role Overview:
As the Head of Global Media, Executive and Thought Leadership, you play a leading role to protect and build our reputation globally. Reporting to the CCO, Lynette Jackson, this involves developing and executing communications strategies in collaboration with businesses and regions. You will oversee global media relations strategies and oversee the development of thought leadership and executive positioning plans to sharpen the perception of Siemens as a leading technology company. You are the key expert to drive the professionalism of media relations and thought leadership forward. This position also serves as an advisor to executive management, including the Managing and Supervisory Boards, on media strategy, including issue management.
The role is based in Munich.
What part will you play?
• Media Relations Strategy: Formulate the global media strategy, ensuring alignment with overall communications and influencer relations strategies. Handle complex media inquiries, including those related to financial communications.
• Thought Leadership Strategy: Develop and execute the overall thought leadership strategy for Siemens. Drive the topic and content framework, messaging, and positions. Identify and synchronize core topics with medium and long-term relevance, leveraging data analytics, market research, and benchmarking.
• Executive Guidance: Advises senior management on their communications activities, including developing and implementing positioning plans and new formats/concepts to position senior management and Siemens topics in the media.
• Financial Results: Coordinates and executes the communication of the business and financial performance of Siemens in collaboration with Investor Relations and the Corporate Finance teams.
• Leadership and Team Management: Lead and build a team of 40 members, fostering collaboration, empowerment, and a growth mindset. Coach team members in thought leadership and media relations.
• Monitoring and Analytics: Define critical data and KPIs, utilizing analytics to measure communication impact effectiveness. Proactively monitor, research, and manage issues, contributing to timely and value-added responses to media inquiries.
What you need to make real what matters.
• University degree.
• Proven experience in progressively senior roles within a large multinational corporation or similar organizations, demonstrating a track record of strategic leadership and impactful communication initiatives, combined with an excellent executive presence.
• Excellent understanding of business objectives, products, and services.
• Proven track record of creating impact with media relations and thought leadership.
• A strong network of business media contacts, particularly in Germany.
• Inclusive and collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire diverse teams.
• Native German language skills and fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
