The Head of Corporate Strategy will play an integral part in assessing, driving, and prioritizing the long-range strategic planning for the company across its brands. S/he will serve as a thought leader advising our CEO, CFO and senior leaders regarding the group strategy, partnerships and alliances, and strategic projects that will help drive continued growth. This person will have demonstrated ability to guide an organization on how it thinks about future opportunities and help drive these initiatives to fruition. This person must be a self-starter, excellent verbal/written communication skills, able to work across multiple brands and functional areas, strong quantitative skills, and detail oriented. RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and drive RCG's strategic planning process in partnership with the SVP, Corporate Finance and Strategy and the senior leadership teamSupport research engagements to develop RCG's position on long-term strategic issues and opportunities. Gather and report intel on competition, regulation, and market trends in support of our strategic choices direct to the senior leadership team of the corporation. Partner with RCG's leaders to operationalize the long-term growth strategy which includes garnering buy-in and holding the business units accountable to the results through the reporting of key metricsBuilds and contributes to RCG's intellectual capital, defining processes and best practices to live on beyond their tenure in roleMaintain a continuous perspective on our industry competitors, but also identify key areas of opportunitiesContinuously engage RCG leadership teams across the organization to understand relevant business priorities, challenges, and implications for the various horizons of the strategic plansDevelop an ongoing agenda for strategic debate within the executive leadership team, bringing forward risks, opportunities, and new developments both within and beyond the travel and cruise industryDeliver plans on a monthly, quarterly basis identifying key value creation and long-term initiatives Test the viability of the strategy and contribute creative ideas and insights to support the strategy formation process. Undertake strategic, statistical and tactical risk modeling and scenario planning for business-critical decisions to support business strategy and to identify and mitigate risk in line with the risk appetite.Present verbal and written recommendations; lead discussions with all levels of management including C-level executives and RCG's Board of Directors.Lead and mentor a team of highly talented and driven strategy practitioners; invest in growing the team through regular feedback and ongoing coaching
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
At least 15 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic consulting, investment banking, and/or business planningAt least 10 years of leading teamsMaster's degree in Business Administration, preferred.Demonstrated problem-solving skills for the most complex problems, with exceptional ability to create structured quantitative and qualitative analyses for a large scale company and deliver insight and integrated solutionsAbility to manage multiple simultaneous high-priority projects (including project management of cross-functional teams)Balance of working as a consultant and as a practitioner within a successful global brandDemonstrated ability to lead and mentor a talented and driven strategy team in the development and execution of strategic initiatives, excellent people development and leadership skillsProject management experience on an international scale, providing strategic leadership for multiple programs simultaneously in a cross-functional businessStrong oral and written communication skills; ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive mannerExperience working with and/or presenting to a public company Board of Directors, preferred but not requiredAbility to critically think about the future; creative and "out of the box" thinking that drives innovationAbility to execute consumer research, statistical models and connect them to strategic initiativesExperience in building trusted advisor relationships and influencing others (including C-level executives).
