The Data Science & Analytics Organization within Realtor.com is seeking a seasoned leader to lead its Consumer Analytics pillar. This team serves as a close, trusted partner to the Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Product Officer, senior leadership within Marketing and Product. The Head of Consumer Analytics will serve as a key member of the Data Science & Analytics Leadership Team, responsible for leading a team of 20+ data analysts and scientists. The primary focus of this role is to conduct exploratory and deep-dive analyses to support audience growth, enhance our consumer experience, maximize marketing effectiveness and optimize the conversion funnel. The role partners closely with the customer analytics, reporting and machine learning engineering teams, to leverage the combined expertise of the overall DS&A organization.
We balance accelerated creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration and flexibility, from inside and outside of our office walls. This role will require working three days of one's choice in our Austin office.
Responsibilities Advance the culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the company: As a key member of the DS&A Leadership Team, collaborate with the SVP, Data Science & Analytics, CMO, CPO, and senior leadership to develop and drive a vision for the Consumer Analytics function, constantly shaping the company's understanding of the consumer, and evolving the approach to targeting, acquiring, engaging, and satisfying consumer needs. Develop models to understand the drivers of consumer behavior: Create models that help deeply understand the drivers of consumer behavior and translate this understanding into actionable insights to support the company's growth ambitions. Collate and activate data for effective analytics & reporting: Identify and leverage existing data sources or consider new data sources that can be synthesized into effective analytics and reporting to solve key business challenges. "Own the metrics" related to the consumer function: Take ownership of the metrics that are used to support the Consumer functions. Develop deep-dive analyses when anomalies present themselves in the core metrics to inform and recommend mitigation strategies to the business. Champion an experimental mindset: Be a driving force for the development of experimentation capabilities and the infusion of those capabilities into the decision making process for product and marketing. Partner and coordinate with data marts teams: Collaborate with the data marts teams to ensure that relevant datasets are available and accessible for analysis and reporting. Manage and mentor a team of best-in-class data analysts and data scientists: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 20+ data analysts and scientists to deliver high-quality analytics and insights. Identify opportunities to drive growth: Identify opportunities to apply ML techniques to support product discovery, grow audience and optimize the marketing funnel. Key Qualifications Track record of delivering insights and business impact: 12+ years of experience working in data science and/or advanced analytics with a track record of delivering insights and business impact. Experience leading marketing, product, or digital analytics for a consumer technology company: 5+ years of experience leading teams of analysts and data scientists in a consumer technology company. Marketplace experience is a plus. Advanced degree in economics, statistics, or a similar field: MS or PhD in economics, statistics, or a similar field. Demonstrated experience with ML techniques and their application: Executive presence and ability to influence outcomes: Must be able to demonstrate executive presence, partnering with senior executive leadership to influence meaningful outcomes, and representing/serving as the voice of the DS&A Team in relevant staff meetings. Strong management experience: Must have managed a team of 5+ analysts. Relevant stakeholder experience: Must have experience working closely with marketing and/or product teams. In addition we will be looking for Superior organization, project management skills, and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication Experience working with large datasets and best practice tools Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills
