Job Purpose
The Role – act as the deal architect and lead negotiator (deal structuring, term sheet, contract negotiations) for partnering opportunities strategically aligned with growth initiatives
Lead a large and complex core BD&L Function in line with corporate and franchise strategy and execute global BD&L deals, and support global M&A deals, while ensuring external / internal / cross-divisional & cross-functional negotiation and alignment as well as appropriate financial and organizational business results
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Provide outstanding partnering skills through the entire deal making process to secure and implement attractive deals
• Design partnering structures tailored to the profile of each envisioned collaboration
• Leverage and continuously strengthen broad industry network to facilitate deal making
• Drive contribution from various Functions (e.g. NIBR, GDD, Commercial, Finance) to develop robust/ comprehensive business case with clear recommendations
• Work closely with the Business Franchise Head / DU Head to understand key priorities and communicate proactively progress on projects / deal dynamic
• Facilitate decision making process, responsible for deal presentation at NDC/DLT stage and is responsible alongside other functions to finalize transactions
• Proactively monitor the external business environment and maintain a knowledge base of licensing transactions and other companies partnering activities
This is a site based role in Cambridge, MA.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $284,000 and $426,000per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors

Role Requirements
Education
• Bachelor Degree required. Ph.D. or Advanced degree desirable in the biological science plus MBA or similar advanced degree
Work Experience
• At minimum 15+ years industry experience with at minimum 10+ years in Business Development or Investment Banking
• Proven track record at sourcing, structuring, negotiating, closing different type of partnerships
• Broad network in the industry
• Demonstrated history of leading international, global, and cross-functional teams and strategic corporate initiatives
• Deal sheets will be required as part of your application
Languages
• Fluency in English required. Effective and persuasive communicator with strong presentation, communication (both written and verbal), influencing, negotiation and information management skills
