GE's Power Conversion business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world's major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.
We provide some of the most complex Marine Automation and Dynamic Positioning systems in the world, providing solutions for complex vessels like Wind farm and Naval vessels. Working with cutting edge technology you will join an existing engineering team responsible for taking a diverse range of products from design through to final product, and then maintaining the product through its whole lifecycle.
Job Description
In this role you will be required to develop the Automation architecture for new hardware component systems, ensure compatibility and integration with the software, and diagnose and resolve component bugs and malfunctions.
Some of the responsibilities will be:
Designing electrical equipment cabinets and workstations.Troubleshooting and diagnosing errors and suggesting suitable repairs or modifications.Designing new Industrial product from inception through to production.Investigating equipment, techniques, materials and hardware for new products.Testing hardware prototypes and analysing and interpreting performance data.Commissioning and testing products.
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with
A Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering (or equivalent).Solid experience of electrical cabinet design for Automation solutions.A background as a hardware design engineer or Automation Systems engineer.Able to attain UK Security clearance.Previous experience in an engineering design environment.Experience in engineering in one or more fields, from power engineering, electrical drive systems and automation.Understanding of Machinery / Low Voltage / EMC DirectivesCommitment to high quality solutions through a rigorous approach, standardization and design re-use.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good report writing skills. Good personal organisational skills.Experience of programming PLCs, Drives or Simulation tools would be an advantageExcellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
