Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Customer Service Representative in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is primarily based within a museum setting, and will involve a high level of interaction with guests. You will be expected to become an expert on the museum and the Civil Rights era, and will be responsible for greeting guests, providing exceptional customer service, and achieving organizational sales and service goals.
Responsibilities:
• Greet guests at the front door and box office, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
• Become a subject matter expert on the Museum and the Civil Rights era, and be prepared to share this knowledge with guests.
• Assist guests by answering questions, providing directions, and sharing key talking points about exhibits.
• Monitor and manage the flow of traffic within the museum to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests.
• Deliver a short presentation before and after the screening of the museum's introductory video.
• Stand at designated stations throughout the museum, providing information and assistance as needed.
• Assist with retail sales and maintain store inventory within the museum's gift shop.
• Maintain a high level of customer service at all times, responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to continuously improve knowledge and skills.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, in line with the needs of the museum and guests. Requirements • Proven experience as a Customer Service Representative or similar role, with a minimum of 2 years in a customer service position.
• Proficient knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
• Experience in retail sales is a must.
• Ability to assist guests in a professional and friendly manner.
• Demonstrated ability to direct guests to the products or services they desire.
• Familiarity with the retail industry, preferably in a retail store setting.
• Experience in managing store inventory, including stocking and ordering.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on active listening and clearly articulating responses.
• Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry, communication, and customer management.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and high volume of customers while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, during weekends, or holidays as required by the retail store schedule.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification; a higher certificate in sales or a related field is a plus.
