Job Description
Responsible for understanding the basic function of Rooms Merchandising and integrating that knowledge with Selective Selling Techniques to sell
the right rooms to the right customers at the correct rate.
Responsibilities
Oversee accurate input of Reservations into system
Process group reservations
Make / Change / Cancel reservations
Process confirmations
Explain no show and cancellation to meeting planner
Check Daily group arrivals to ensure accurate reservations
Input Reservations within specified time periods
Ensure that all calls and emails are acknowledge as quickly as possible
Group room’s control
Convention Services departmental interaction
Knowledge of hotel services and events
Ensure an efficient and professional working environment with open communication
Complete daily checklist
Ensure resumes are reviewed and processed prior to groups arrival
Come to work on time daily, with a proper uniform, nametag, and a smile
Practice the Power of Engagement to make the guest happy and exceed their expectations
File Reservations and back-up material
Handle mail / correspondence
Post advance deposits
Process 800 number reservations
Meet with meeting planners as necessary in pre and post cons.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge of four-diamond / four-star customer service standards
Previous experience in a Luxury Hotel Customer Service / Reservations (strongly preferred)
Experience with Delphi, Opera ORS, and Opera PMS (strongly preferred)
Proficient computer skills on Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
Excellent and professional communication skills
Highly detailed, and able to maintain excellent organizational skills – while working in a fast pace environment.
Ability to multi-task while working on up to 20-40 future groups. Availability to work Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm. Be willing to work overtime or shifts outside of work pattern if needed.
