$20.71 per hour
DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY:Maintains and performs duties at Lasalle Park. Works with department to ensure proper care of park on both scheduled and unscheduled days. Performs other duties as assigned. Subject to call in work requests.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Supervises work force of seasonal employees and/or volunteers. Coordinates work orders and requests to fulltime employees and supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected.
Mows grass, park and ground maintenance including weed spraying, weed eating, edging, blowing off cement areas.Cleans entire property for trash and debris.Removes or mulches leaves on all associated areas of property.Removes snow and applies salt for safety to all applicable areas.Keeps records of completed daily work both analogue and digital.Communicate with part-time staff regarding work priorities and schedule changes.Maintains clean and safe work areas, tools, and equipment.Be able to communicate with the public as needed, good customer service.May be required to work heights of 10ft or more on ladders.Maintains a positive attitude and consistent performance.Able to maintain best practices and learn new maintenance procedures.Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Two years' experience in ground maintenance and supervisory skills. Turf knowledge a plusHigh school diploma or equivalent education preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
Working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in grounds maintenance.Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule.Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and to perform physical laborAbility to communicate orally and in writing.Ability to speak Spanish a plus.Working knowledge of Windows operating system and OutlookCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Valid Drivers License required.
EQUIPMENT:Riding mower, push mower, weed eater, leaf blower, tractor, tractor attachments, spraying power washer, pickup truck w/snowplow, shovel, broom, rake, ladders, laptop, cell phone, electronic tablet, cordless drill, and various hand tools such as hand pruners, loppers, chainsaw, pole saw, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee infrequently works in high precarious places, with fumes or airborne particles, and with vibration. The noise level is moderate, except when operating power equipment.
