About Groundwater Sampling Technician

  Clean Harbors is seeking a Groundwater Sampling Technician. The Groundwater Sampling Technician will be responsible for collecting groundwater samples from various sites using field equipment and other collection instruments. Experience in groundwater sampling or related area of experience highly preferred.

  * This position will need to be open and willing to travel 85-100% of the time to various sites all over the country. Per diem available for each overnight stay and all travel costs covered by the company.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

  Travel to required field sites and collect groundwater samples;

  Work in varying site conditions where steep slopes and rugged terrain may be present;

  Label and properly store samples collected;

  Maintain field notes of sampling information collated that accurately reflects findings;

  Use GPS (Global Positioning Systems) to locate field-sampling sites;

  Enter sampling information into databases;

  Maintain and calibrate field equipment and instruments;

  Communicate with clients, supervisors, and other stakeholders as required;

  All other duties as assigned by management.

  What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  High School Diploma or equivalent is required;

  Experience in groundwater sampling or testing preferred;

  Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards preferred;

  Willing to work outside in all kinds of weather, utilizing prescribed Personal Protective Equipment;

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required;

  Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

  Ability to travel to different locations and work in varying site conditions;

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  Attention to detail and accuracy a must.

  Physical Requirements

  Requires walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping, crouching, balance, and typing;

  Requires speaking, listening, understanding, and writing English; color determination, depth perception, clarity of vision, and 20/20 eyesight (corrected or uncorrected);

  Maintains a clean and organized work environment, and a clean personal appearance. Facial hair must always comply with the company’s respiratory protection facial hair policy.

  Other Conditions of Employment

  Complete an employment application and satisfy all employment requirements, including a pre-employment and annual physical, drug screen, and background clearance;

  Adhere to Clean Harbors’ policies/procedures and maintain current OSHA 40, RCRA, DOT training;

  Have and maintain a valid Driver's License and driving record that this satisfactory to Clean Harbors and provide a certified driving record and be approved to operate light duty vehicles.
